11 Jul 10 Benefits Of A Micro ATX Case

If you like to keep things small, streamlined, efficient, then you may have a problem finding the right ATX case. Many people go ahead and purchase a large case and place a small computer inside. If you have an okay case already, or one which you can’t part with, this isn’t a terrible answer. If you need to get a new case, think about a Micro ATX case to house your small computer.

Having your computer housed in an appropriately sized case is important for several reasons.

It Takes Up Less Space

This is an obvious one, but what may not be obvious is how incredibly convenient it can be to keep a smaller tower on your desktop (or under it). If your computer is small enough, you can find cases that would allow you to keep it in a drawer in your desk. However, that would be bad for the computer due to the heating issues. But the idea is that with the right case, and a power supply you could easily store your computer anywhere.

- A micro computer looks really neat.

Smaller cases actually do look awesome. Similar to when gaming consoles get recreated in a smaller version everyone is fascinated, even though the insides are basically the same. This idea is the same when it comes to computers. For example there is really no NEED to make a tiny Mac, No, but they look really neat, and for some people, that’s the whole reason they buy a Mac in the first place over a PC. If you use a PC, you can still benefit from this kind of function and form without taking up a whole ton of space and material.

- A small computer is better for the environment.

While not everyone agrees, many people who use Micro ATX cases feel that they’re consuming less plastic. If you’re environmentally minded, this may well be a significant part of the appeal of micro cases for you. Micro ATX cases are made from up to 50% less plastic when compared to the traditional computer case.

Prevents Overheating

Many people think that the extra space in a regular case is beneficial to keeping the computer cool. Unfortunately all that space does is allow more air to be heated and create a virtual oven for your computer parts. Your computer’s fan works to cool down the air surrounding the hardware within the case, and not the physical hardware. Obviously, your computer will not overheat as much by having a better case.

- They consume less power.

Obviously, when you use a small fan to keep a small space cool, it will take less power, and therefore save you money. A fan is made to keep an entire case cool, so if you have s smaller area to cool, the fan won’t have to work as hard.

And that’s everything! Now you know what all the hype is about micro cases, even if you aren’t ready to convert, you are now aware that they are very nice to look at, practical and convenient.
